Carl grades Lekker Peptides: careful guides, then dosing schedules in the shop, 6/10

I graded everything Lekker Peptides publishes: all 40 blog posts, all 189 product pages, its protocols page, policies and certificates. I didn't test their products.

Lekker Peptides writes some of the most carefully sourced guides I've graded, and says plainly that research peptides can't lawfully be sold for human use. Its shop then gives injection schedules on “research use only” products and sells medicines that its own legal guide says need a prescription.

6/10

Warning: dosing schedules and prescription medicines on a research-use shop
The blog says one thing.
The shop does another.

The short version: I'm giving Lekker Peptides 6 out of 10. Every one of the 28 papers its blog links to is the paper it names, every trial number I checked holds, and its legal guide is blunt: research peptides can't lawfully be sold for human use, and a “research use only” label isn't a loophole. Then the shop puts injection schedules on 48 “research use only” products, runs a protocols page with an “Add to My schedule” button, and has an open “Add to cart” on medicines its own guide says need a prescription. That's why both product checks are red.

What I looked at: lekkerpeptides.co.za, all 40 blog posts (16 read in full), all 189 product pages, the protocols page, goal pages, FAQ, regulatory page and policies. All on 15 October 2026. Before grading, I checked that Lekker Peptides has no link to us. It doesn't: the only overlap with our Lekker Latte brand is the word “Lekker”.

The score, broken down

What I markedScoreWhy
Is it clear?2 / 2Plain language, short-answer boxes, tables and FAQs, with the same structure across 40 posts and 189 products.
Is it useful?1 / 2The legal, research-use, COA and side-effects guides help any South African reader. But the site's working core is a self-injection toolkit: 48 dosing pages, a protocols page with “Add to My schedule”, an injection-site guide and goal pages for menopause, tanning and libido.
Are the facts right?1 / 2The science holds every time I checked. The shop's own claims don't: it promises a legal classification on every listing and none of 189 has one, its missed-dose rules don't match the medicine labels it calls “the schedule used in the main trials”, and posts disagree on whether it even sells retatrutide.
Does it show the evidence?1 / 2When it cites, it cites correctly: 28 of 28 DOI links open the right paper, none from vendors or forums. But 23 of 40 posts cite nothing, including the retatrutide timeline built on a trial it never links, and no author is named.
Is it honest about downsides?1 / 2The blog is strong here, with a side-effects guide that says when to stop and get help. The product pages, where people buy, lead with “Key benefits” and “Proven fat loss”, and none of the 27 GLP-1 listings carries the thyroid warning on the approved medicines' labels.
Total6 / 10A careful blog attached to a shop that ignores it.

The supplier checks

CheckResultWhy
Lab reportsRedCertificates on 22 of 189 products, all from one pen brand and all issued by the manufacturer, 6 of them “available on request” only. No named lab, independent test, verify link or public PDF, and no identity test shown. None for any of the 27 GLP-1 listings. Credit: it says plainly these are the manufacturer's certificates, and doesn't borrow anyone else's.
Claims & dosingRed48 “research use only” pages with injection schedules or a “supplied protocol”, 52 more offering dosing help by email, benefit copy like “Calms inflammation” and “Proven fat loss”, and medicines with an open “Add to cart” and no prescription step on the page.
BasicsAmberTerms, a POPIA privacy policy, a regulatory page, shipping with cold packs, one dispatch promise everywhere, an 18+ gate, a real “Reject all” on cookies, and no fake reviews. But no company name, registration number, address or phone anywhere (email only), no cooling-off line, and a classification promise that isn't kept. Close to red.
How I grade. I mark what a supplier publishes: their product pages, guides, FAQs and lab reports. I don't test what's in their vials, so I never guess about it. Five questions, two points each, then three supplier checks, green, amber or red. Every point has a quote, a link and the date I saw it. Suppliers can reply any time and I add it word for word. Nobody can pay for a grade or change one. The full method.

What they got right

Citations that check out. All 28 linked papers are the ones named, and every trial figure I checked against the original holds, from the retatrutide phase 2 trial to the semaglutide and tirzepatide weight-loss trials. The retatrutide post says it plainly: “Retatrutide is still investigational.”

It won't oversell in the blog. “anyone describing BPC-157 as proven is describing a rat”. Its side-effects guide says repair peptides have “few reported side effects, but also little human data”, and its COA guide warns that “A wall of perfect 100.0% figures is a warning, not a reassurance.”

Saved copies: BPC-157 vs TB-500 (L04), side effects (L05), COA guide (L06)

It states the law against its own interest. Research compounds “have not been assessed for human safety, and it would be unlawful to sell them for human consumption.” And: “A supplier cannot make a research compound into an approved human product by describing it warmly.”

Honest about whose certificates they are, no fake reviews, careful shipping. The COA guide says its certificates are “copied exactly as the manufacturer printed them”. There are no reviews or testimonials anywhere, so none to fake. Cold packs and a 48-hour dispatch promise are the same on every page.

What dragged it down

The shop does what the blog says it can't. 48 product pages ending “For research use only.” carry injection schedules, “This is the dosing schedule supplied with the product”, missed-dose rules or “The supplied protocol is”. A protocols page gathers them under “How to use, as supplied with this product”, with an “Add to My schedule” button and “Speak to a doctor before starting anything new.” I'm not repeating any of their doses here.

Saved copies: protocols page (L11, L12, L13, L14, L15), tirzepatide page (L16, L17), Wolverine pen (L19), “ask us” (L22). All seen 15 Oct 2026.

Medicines with an open “Add to cart”. Its own legal guide says that if a compound is a registered medicine, buying it without a prescription isn't lawful, and its regulatory page defines “Prescription only, may only be supplied against a valid prescription.” The shop lists “Duromine 30”, described on the page as a “prescription appetite suppressant medication”, an “Elitox 100iu” listing with no description at all, growth hormone kits, and 27 semaglutide and tirzepatide listings, the molecules registered in South Africa as Ozempic and Mounjaro. None shows a prescription step on the page. I didn't open the checkout, so I can't say whether it asks for one there.

Saved copies: regulatory page (L10), Duromine (L26, L27), Elitox (L28), their own pharmacy post (L07)

Names on SAHPRA's falsified-products list. In 2024 SAHPRA published a list of falsified or unauthorised GLP-1 products, including “Body Pharm Tirzepatide 30 Pen”, “Body Pharm Semaglutide 6 Pen”, HD Labs products, “Izempic” and iPharma tirzepatide. Lekker sells 9 listings with matching brand and product names, including “Tirzepatide 30mg Pen (Body Pharm)” and “iZempic 5mg”, the second described as having “the same active ingredient that made Ozempic and Wegovy household names”. A matching name doesn't prove it's the same product SAHPRA examined. But no post mentions SAHPRA's list, or its peptide warning naming all nine of the peptides SAHPRA calls illegally marketed, which Lekker also sells.

Benefit copy the blog would reject. Product pages say “Calms inflammation” (25 products), “Proven fat loss” (22) and “Accelerates recovery” (15). A menopause page sells growth hormone for “firmer skin, a leaner body and better energy” and calls its picks “the peptides women most often use to feel like themselves again”, then ends “All products are sold for research use only. Product pages carry guideline dosing”.

Saved copies: Wolverine pen (L18), menopause page (L23, L24, L25)

Facts that don't hold up.

What they sayWhat I found
“Every listing on this site states its regulatory classification and its intended use.” (L08, L09)None of the 189 product pages shows a classification.
Missed-dose rules presented as “the dosing schedule supplied with the product” or “the schedule used in the main trials”The tirzepatide window is longer than the approved Zepbound label allows, and the semaglutide pages use a different rule from the Wegovy label.
“We carry retatrutide as pre-filled pens and self-mix vials” (L34)Another post says “Retatrutide is an investigational compound and is not sold on this site.” (L35) The shop lists no retatrutide.
“Established brands only” (home page)9 GLP-1 listings share names with SAHPRA's falsified-products list, and one brand is called “Weightloss Prescription”.

The basics. No company name, registration number, address, phone or named person anywhere. The terms say “Our only contact channel is email” (L38). SA's online-selling law requires all of those details. The returns page says “We do not accept returns.” (L37) with no mention of the 7-day cooling-off right. 14 posts are dated before the domain was registered on 1 September 2026, with no note explaining why.

What would get them a better grade

The writing is already good enough for a 9. The shop is what holds it back.

Their side

Lekker Peptides can reply any time through this form. If they do, I'll add it here word for word.

Spotted something I got wrong? Tell me. I fix facts fast and say what changed. I don't change a grade because someone complains, only when I've got a fact wrong or the supplier changes what they publish.

Carl's take: Lekker Peptides has written the rules of its own grade. Its blog says research peptides can't lawfully be sold for human use and that a research label isn't a loophole. Its shop gives injection schedules on research-label products and sells medicines without a visible prescription step. 6 out of 10, for a blog worth reading and a shop that should read it.
Important: This is general education, not medical advice. Research peptides are sold for research use only, not for human use. Speak to a healthcare professional before taking anything.
