Carl grades JP Supplements: the best-sourced shop I've graded, still with a dose calculator, 8/10

This is our own shop. Peptide Carl is run by the team behind JP Supplements, so read the box below before anything else.

JP's writing now cites its sources better than any SA seller I've graded, and its lab-report wall says exactly what every report shows. But the shop still sells research-use vials next to a dose calculator, injection kits and ready-to-use pens, and it names no company behind the site.

Carl's grade
8/10
Lab reports: Amber
Claims & dosing: Red
Basics: Amber
Warning: dose calculator, injection kits and ready-to-use pens on research-use products
Our own shop. Same rules.
Morning score: 6/10.
Read this first. Peptide Carl is run by the same team as JP Supplements. Every other shop in this series was graded as I found it. JP saw my notes on the morning of 15 October and fixed what it chose to before I graded it, so it had a head start the others didn't get. Its score that morning was 6/10. Any shop I've graded can do the same: fix things and ask for a re-grade through this form.

The short version: I'm giving JP Supplements 8 out of 10. In one day it added sources to every journal post (89 of 91 PubMed links now open the paper they name), rebuilt its lab-report wall so every card says exactly what its picture shows, and put SAHPRA's warning on the 13 product pages it applies to. But the shop still sells “research use only” vials next to a dose calculator, syringes “to draw and measure each dose”, weeks-of-supply packs and ready-to-use pens. That's why the claims check is red, the same as for Cronopharm and Peptide South Africa. And it still names no company behind the site.

What I looked at: jpsupplements.com, all 14 journal posts, all 62 product pages, the lab-reports wall and all 21 report pictures it opens, the calculator, kits, wholesale page and all 5 policies. All on 15 October 2026, after that day's fixes went live.

The score, broken down

What I markedScoreWhy
Is it clear?2 / 2Plain English, “short version” boxes, tables, and a “Where the evidence stops” section on every post and product guide.
Is it useful?1 / 2The journal and product guides genuinely help you understand evidence levels, WADA and SAHPRA. But the shop's most-used tools serve self-injection: a calculator with typical-dose presets, syringe kits, weeks-of-supply packs and pens. Same reason Peptide South Africa got 1.
Are the facts right?2 / 2Every trial, label, WADA and SAHPRA figure I checked holds, and the five errors I found that morning are fixed. So are the shop-copy slips I found that afternoon (see below).
Does it show the evidence?2 / 214 of 14 posts link sources. 89 of 91 PubMed and PMC links open the paper named, and none opens an unrelated one. Posts show when sources were checked, and there's an editorial policy with a corrections address.
Is it honest about downsides?1 / 2Limits are stated bluntly everywhere. But safety detail is thin where the risk is highest: the GLP-1 product pages mostly leave out pancreatitis and the thyroid boxed warning, no post covers SAHPRA's warning or the 2026 GLP-1 recall, the pens carry no risk text, and the one endotoxin result isn't explained.
Total8 / 10Sourced writing and an honest lab wall, sold next to injection tools.

The supplier checks

CheckResultWhy
Lab reportsAmber34 reports JP commissioned from Janoshik, with batch, task number, dates and keys. Every card now says what its picture is, and I read all 21 pictures: each shows the report its card names. “No report held” appears on 37 product pages instead of borrowed proof. Against: one endotoxin result with no limit given, no sterility test at all, 8 pictures that are older tests than the report they link to (I couldn't open the newer ones), and 2025 batches on a shop that says it opened in May 2026.
Claims & dosingRedA dose calculator with typical doses and “units to draw”, “to draw and measure each dose” on 49 pages, weeks-of-supply packs on 13, ready-to-use pens and a Pen Starter Kit, an intranasal spray, and titration copy. Credit: no human doses in the journal, no legality claims, and SAHPRA's warning on 13 pages.
BasicsAmberEmail, refund, shipping and terms pages, a privacy policy that names every service it shares data with, an editorial policy, one dispatch promise everywhere, and reviews with the R100 credit disclosed. Missing: no company name, registration number, address or director anywhere, a UK WhatsApp number only, and no 7-day cooling-off line.
How I grade. I mark what a supplier publishes: their product pages, guides, FAQs and lab reports. I don't test what's in their vials, so I never guess about it. Five questions, two points each, then three supplier checks, green, amber or red. Every point has a quote, a link and the date I saw it. Suppliers can reply any time and I add it word for word. Nobody can pay for a grade or change one. The full method.

What they got right

Every post now shows its sources. All 14 journal posts link their sources and say where the evidence stops. The GH post now gets the fragment right and lists the compounds banned in sport. The COA guide says the uncomfortable part: “If a report doesn't list those tests, they weren't done.” Of 91 PubMed and PMC links across the site, 89 open the paper they name. For comparison, Peptide South Africa was 25 of 41.

A lab wall that says what each report is. Every card names the report its picture shows. Where the picture is an older test than the link, it says so. Where it's JP's own summary graphic, it says that too. The one endotoxin test and the bac water preservative test are labelled as what they are, not as purity results.

Saved copies: wall (J01), older-test card (J02), bac water card (J04)

SAHPRA's warning, on the products it names. All 13 product pages for the nine peptides SAHPRA lists as illegally marketed now say so, with a link to SAHPRA's notice.

It discloses the link to me. JP's editorial policy says it sells what it writes about, and that Peptide Carl is its own channel.

What dragged it down

Injection tools on a research-use shop. The calculator works out “how many units to draw” from an intended dose, with typical-dose presets for each peptide. Product pages sell syringes “to draw and measure each dose” and packs described as weeks of supply. There are pre-filled pens “ready to use once brought to room temperature”, a Pen Starter Kit asking “Prefer pen injection over syringes?”, a nasal spray bottle for compounds “handled intranasally”, and a semaglutide vial pitched past the titration phase. All of it sits under a “research use only” label. I'm not repeating the calculator's doses here. This is the same thing I marked Cronopharm and Peptide South Africa down for, so it gets the same red.

Saved copies: calculator (J11, J12), syringes (J13), weeks of supply (J14), pen (J15), Pen Starter Kit (J16), semaglutide (J17), nasal spray (J18). All seen 15 Oct 2026.

Thin on GLP-1 safety. JP's best-selling product page, tirzepatide 30 mg, lists the gut side effects but not the thyroid boxed warning on the approved medicine's label, and no GLP-1 page mentions pancreatitis. No post covers SAHPRA's warning that powder GLP-1s aren't registered, or the 2026 recall. Peptide South Africa does both.

Lab-report loose ends. The endotoxin test shows 20.1 EU per vial, above the range the lab could measure accurately, with no limit or explanation of what that means. There's no sterility test for anything. Two cards have no picture. And the home page says JP opened in May 2026, while 12 of the report pictures are 2025 batches, with no note explaining that.

Fixed before this went up. In the afternoon re-check I found five more slips, and JP fixed them before I published: a kit priced R49 in a post and R99 on its page, two sources labelled as papers they aren't, Lemon Bottle still sold as a “lipolysis solution” with syringes, glutathione pitched for “skin-tone and pigmentation”, and an SS-31 badge that didn't say which size its report was for. The saved copies (J19, J20, J21, J23, J28) show them as they were.

The basics. Nowhere on the site does JP name the company behind it, its registration number, an address or a director. The footer says “JP Research” (J26). The only phone number is a UK WhatsApp line. The refund policy doesn't mention the 7-day cooling-off right for online orders (J25). Wholesale orders “Ship from the UK” (J27). Peptide South Africa, with a 7, publishes its company name, registration number and director.

What would get them a better grade

Do the first two and this is a 9 with a much better set of checks.

Their side

JP is our own shop, so there's no separate reply. If you think I went easy on it, tell me and I'll answer in public on this page.

Spotted something I got wrong? Tell me. I fix facts fast and say what changed. I don't change a grade because someone complains, only when I've got a fact wrong or the supplier changes what they publish.

Carl's take: In one day JP went from 6 to 8 by doing the boring work properly: sources on every post, a lab wall that labels every report honestly, and the regulator's warning on the products it names. The red is the same red as everyone else's: research-use vials sold next to a dose calculator, injection kits and ready-to-use pens. Fix that, put a company name on the site, and there's not much left to mark down.
Important: This is general education, not medical advice. Research peptides are sold for research use only, not for human use. Speak to a healthcare professional before taking anything.
