GHRP-6

GH-Releasing Peptide-6 · the hunger peptide

An injectable ghrelin-mimetic that fires a GH pulse — and famously makes you ravenous 15–30 minutes after the shot.

What it actually is

GHRP-6 is a first-gen growth-hormone-releasing peptide that triggers a GH pulse by mimicking ghrelin.

Its signature is appetite — the strongest hunger of any GHRP, which is why it’s the bulking pick.

Carl’s one-liner: The bulking GHRP: it works, and it will make you hungry.

How it’s thought to work

What the research says

Older peptide with early GH-response data but no modern clinical use; not approved, WADA-banned. Community dosing is practitioner lore, not trials.

Reported protocols

These are the doses the peptide community actually reports running (Reddit & forums), alongside published research — logged for education, not as a recommendation to use.

ParameterCommonly reported range
Community dose100 mcg per shot (saturation dose)
Frequency1–3× daily (AM fasted, post-workout, pre-bed)
RouteSubQ (IM also used)
Cycle8–12 wks, or continuous with deloads
Community tip100 mcg saturates the receptor — split into more daily doses, don’t mega-dose one
Reality check: Research chemical, not approved, WADA-banned. Ravenous hunger disqualifies it for cutting; water retention, tingling, and cortisol/prolactin creep at high doses.

Common use cases

GoalCommunity protocol notes
Bulking / appetite100 mcg 2–3×/day fasted, with a GHRH
GH pulsestacked with CJC-1295/Mod-GRF
Recovery / sleepa pre-bed dose is common

Mixing it (reconstitution)

Freeze-dried peptides must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before they can be measured. Carl’s calculator turns “mg in the vial + ml of water + target dose” into “units on the syringe” — and tells you how long the vial lasts.

Injection & handling

SubQ (or IM), 100 mcg per shot, on an empty stomach — wait 20–30 min before eating so food doesn’t blunt the pulse. Rotate sites; refrigerate reconstituted, use within ~28 days.

Carl’s quick FAQ

GHRP-6 or GHRP-2?
GHRP-6 for bulking (big hunger); GHRP-2 for cutting (much less hunger).
Why inject fasted?
Fats/carbs blunt the GH release — dose on an empty stomach and wait 20–30 min to eat.
The honest summary: GHRP-6 reliably bumps GH and appetite. If you want the hunger (bulking) it’s great; if you don’t, pick GHRP-2. Unapproved and dated, but well-understood.
