What it actually is
Epithalon (AEDG) was developed from research on the pineal-gland peptide epithalamin. The headline claim is that it can activate telomerase, the enzyme that maintains the protective caps on chromosomes.
Much of the work comes from a single Russian research group over several decades, which is a reason for both interest and caution.
How it’s thought to work
- Telomerase activation — reported to lengthen telomeres in cell studies.
- Melatonin/circadian — linked to pineal function and sleep rhythm.
- Antioxidant effects — reported reductions in oxidative markers.
What the research says
Intriguing but concentrated in one research lineage, with limited independent replication and few modern controlled human trials.
- Telomere/aging research (cell and animal).
- Sleep and circadian-rhythm studies.
- Reported lifespan effects in animal models.
Reported protocols
These are the doses the peptide community actually reports running (Reddit & forums), alongside published research — logged for education, not as a recommendation to use.
| Parameter | Commonly reported range |
|---|---|
| Community dose | 10 mg per dose |
| Frequency | Once daily |
| Route | Subcutaneous (occ. IM) |
| Cycle | 10–20 consecutive days, repeated every 3–6 months |
| Community tip | Short burst, not continuous; most-reported effect = faster sleep onset in ~10–14 days |
Common use cases
| Goal | Community protocol notes |
|---|---|
| Longevity / telomere course | 10 mg/day, 10–20 days, 2–3×/yr |
| Sleep onset | most-reported effect, ~10–14 days |
| (Reality) | evidence concentrated in one lineage |
Mixing it (reconstitution)
Freeze-dried peptides must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before they can be measured. Carl’s calculator turns “mg in the vial + ml of water + target dose” into “units on the syringe” — and tells you how long the vial lasts.

Injection & handling
SubQ (occasionally IM), 10 mg daily — but only in short 10–20 day courses, repeated every 3–6 months (not continuous). Often dosed at night. Refrigerate reconstituted.
Stacks it appears in
- Used alone — Epithalon is usually run on its own in short courses.
